The cyclonic storm named Tauktae intensifies: IMD


The cyclone is going to hail with a very severe speed of 150 to 160 km per hour almost by May 17.  It was officially stated by IMD cyclone as at the center of Lakshwadeep on Saturday morning, it was updated by IMD in the tweet. 

It is hailing from the southeast and east-central Asia from the Arabian Sea and may hit the coast of Gujarat from Diu. The Navy spokesperson tweeted that, as the cyclone is ready to hit the western coast of India, they are all prepped with the ships, aircraft, helicopters, and other disaster relief for standby. Meanwhile, IMD stated on Friday that they had to forecast the storm to intensify and categorize as a very severe cyclonic storm, mentioning the speed of the cyclone. It is more likely to move from the north to north-east and also north-west reaching the coast of Gujarat by May 18 according to the weather department.

The regional forecasting of the weather in Mumbai said that there are chances of hitting the cyclone in Mumbai by May 17 as it is hitting the western coast of India and affecting the state like Gujarat on May 18.
